Little City Brewing + Provisions Presents Blocktober Fest

By Sarah Mausert

Little City Brewing + Provisions is celebrating its one year anniversary with a block party on Saturday, October 7, from 12 to 10 PM.  Blocktober Fest will take over North Street in Raleigh between West and Harrington Streets.  Proceeds from corporate sponsors, attendee donations, and beer sales will be donated to Blocktober Fest’s charity partner, Dynamic Water.

Little City Brewing + Provisions opened in the Glenwood South neighborhood last year.  The boutique brewpub features a variety of beers brewed in-house, as well as a full bar with a craft cocktail menu and will soon be offering food.  Owner Jon Seelbinder said, “We’re thrilled to be celebrating one year of Little City Brewing, and we can’t wait to share our excitement with our neighbors at Blocktober Fest.”

Not only will there be new brews from Little City to taste, there will be bites from Linus & Pepper’s, Virgil’s Original Taqueria, and Raleigh Raw. Guests will also enjoy low-intensity fitness competitions, courtesy of Heat Gym instructors, performances by Elevate, merch from Devolve Moto, coffee from Larry’s Coffee, a photo booth, a bounce house, human-sized beer pong, a dunk tank, carnival-style games, sumo wrestling, and other fun activities.  Live music will be provided by DJs Jade Feliciano, Scott Carneval, Joseph Spclgst Giampino, Edwin Whitted, and party band Supersonic.  Co-sponsors of the event include: Heat Gym, Devolve Moto, Raleigh Raw, Linus & Pepper’s, Virgil’s Original Taqueria, Centerline Digital, Shop Local Raleigh, Larry’s Coffee, Elevate, Glenwood South Neighborhood Collaborative, Barmetrix, and Help One Now.

Entry to Blocktober Fest is free and open to the public, guests can purchase food and beverage tickets inside the event.  Proceeds will benefit Dynamic Water, an organization dedicated to providing access to clean, safe drinking water to communities in need.  Some of the places where Dynamic Water is working include Swaziland, Kenya, and Nicaragua.  “Giving back to the community is a priority at Little City,” according to Seelbinder.  “We’ve had a longstanding relationship with supporting Dynamic Water, and we hope our contributions from this event make an impact toward their initiatives.”
